- A generic hurricane rating does not prove that an installed array suits your roof.
- Request the property-specific permit design and the product documents supporting it.
- Confirm roof condition, waterproofing responsibility and any future battery plan before signing.

Check the whole connection
Wind loads pass through modules, clamps, rails or rail-less mounting, attachments and the supporting structure. The proposed products and installation instructions must support the project layout.
Ask for the exact module and mounting models. More attachments are not automatically better; the approved design determines the correct arrangement.
If a seller cites a Florida Product Approval or Miami-Dade NOA, verify that exact product and represented use. An unrelated approval number is not evidence for the sold system.
Surroundings affect the design
Cape Coral has waterfront, open and built-up sites. A canal address alone does not establish exposure.
The designer considers applicable code, surroundings, roof height, geometry, pitch, roof zones and equipment. Ask how the installer checks the completed layout against the approved plan.
Confirm roof condition and warranty duties
An attachment design does not repair deteriorated covering or concealed damage. A roof assessment should identify condition, remaining life and work needed before installation.
Name the appropriately licensed roofing party separately from the electrical party. Ask who handles attachment leaks, roof assembly defects and later removal, under which written terms. Verify the named contractors through Florida DBPR.
If replacement is already necessary, compare roof-first and coordinated work. A healthy roof does not need replacement merely to align dates.
Backup is a different question
Ordinary grid-connected solar generally shuts down during an outage. Backup needs compatible isolation, equipment and a load-based design. A mounting rating does not establish outage runtime.
